(Inter)National Ambassador

Greetings to all FringeNYC participants coming in from out of the country, or just out of town. We are your "Ambassadors" for the festival -- in other words, we are here to help make your experience in New York as smooth as possible.

Find here information on affordable/cheap accomodations in New York City, and something of a "survival kit" for everyone going into NYC for (perhaps) the first time.
We are basing this on our own experience -- Mark is a Canadian, who performed in last year's festival, Monika came from Austria just in time last August to help out, and Barbara, who is from Switzerland, explored the workshops of Fringe NYC last year.
Mark also has some useful tips for getting your sets/props/costumes to New York -- especially across the border (we are sure you want to hear THAT story).

Be sure to contact your country's consulate, or cultural Institute in New York, they may be able to help you find accomodations, or even offer you a grant.

We also would like to make a request to New York participants to open up their apartments to out-of-towners if you can. We know that Manhattan apartments are generally broome closets, but if you have space and want to get to know groups from Singapore, Sweden, England, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Germany, Cnada or the States, please contact us.
